was on my way to victory... i mean, i could literally smell it already.
with the pace i'm going, there is no doubt it's gonna be a back-to-back victory. i'm unstoppable!
unfortunately (or more precisely, fortunately) sister decided to come home earlier. it's supposed to be May, but today, she arrived.
and we ate. a lot.
lets start with the ribs... then the chocolates... and it's only day one for their (sister and friend) eight day furlough. it's not gonna be easy on the coming days. not to mention, the time to exercise won't be a breeze now.
i hit a snag when we went to Baguio City... no exercise and eat everything on site. that was only three days and two nights and my body felt like i'm back to square one.
after this loooong snag, i have six days to get back to the swing of things.
b-e-a-utiful!
on the bright side, i get to have a new shoes, some jeans and shirts.... and lotsa chocolates!
wish me luck!!

four on the floor
whenever i go grind in the gym, i don't feel like blogging anymore.
exhausting!
it's been hard getting my ass there. i find all sorts of excuses not to exercise. sometimes, the other side wins. mostly though, grudgingly, i just gather enough strength to get it over with and feel better for myself afterwards.
anyway, whilst on my way to work this morning, i had a good look at a Mazda 2 total wrecked resting on an electric post. though i was speeding a bit, had to slow down and took a good closer look.. boy, was it a freak show!
the car was reduced to size with a huge chunk on the hood really crumpled to half. then, as i went up to the flyover, there's plenty of debris scattered all over the road. and i go, what the freak were you thinkin' dude? you just wasted one helluva fast car?!
click HERE for the news of that story.
prior to that, there's a picture in the local news of an upside down Mitsubishi Montero with the disheveled lady driver sitting on the side of the road tinkering on her cellphone. her shorts looked torn you can almost see her crack!
well, i got to meet this Montero in person in the towing area where i frequent to do my field work. man, it is a brand new vehicle with a "For Registration" plate still attached to it!
i heard from a pal who ply's that route regularly that the lady driver fell asleep. it's the SRP and the road is pretty long. it's a haven for accident. i dunno why.
have seen a few more and i couldn't help but ask: how the freak do you waste such an expensive and fine equipment like that?
accidents happen, go home.
yeah, nobody is an expert when it comes to such things.
speaking of equipment and vehicles, i just took the plunge!
saw my friend about two weeks ago. he was into selling cars. well, to make the long story short, he hook me up a nice ride and i get to pay it in installment.
it's a sweet ride for somebody who has been out driving a bike for eons. although i get to drive a cage every once in a while, it's nice to have something you can drive anytime and tag along the kids. whenever i carry them with me on a bike, i kinda feel nervous because one big bump and we'll all be lying on the road. we could wind up in ER or worst, DOA.
so yeah, i'm thankful. just have to save a little more now and set aside a good amount of cash cos there's a monthly amortization that needs to be payed off.
nuff said.

poseurs
i had a two day off from the gym... well, one was a needed respite, the other was just too much work. yeah, the work had been really riding me these days! it doesn't help that my effing supervisor is up my ass with pressure to get things done.. i'm actually having some kinda headache right now. ugh!
so much for that and on to my favorite subject...
another awesome shoulder workout today!
it didn't come as a surprise as i've been busting my chops to get my numbers up in doing shoulder presses. i've pretty much set a new PR (personal record) doing shoulder presses from the pins. roughly 190 pounds for a good three repetitions. i think that it had something to do with my grip strength. someone said and i agree that your ability to move the weight starts when you grip the bar. it's like when you hold the bar, you just go and picture tearing them apart. Dave Tate said something along that line and i must say, i'm a believer now of that principle.
anyway, i've pretty much gotten stronger in almost all facets of lifting.. but i'm not there yet. ya know, it's exciting and there are days that i look forward to just reaching my goal... it feels remarkable to have gotten that far and moving such amount of weight but at the same time it's frustrating when i realize i can't move any more weight cos my body, especially the CNS (central nervous system) is signalling me it's over. it is tired and exhausted and even though the mind is willing, the body has been weakened considerably.
so those are the highs and lows.
kroc rows and farmer's walk had gotten my grip stronger. they can also withstand longer use... in short, they tire a li'l longer than usual.
meanwhile, poseurs are scattered all over the gym like dog shit. hah!
you know, they must've started workin' out yesterday and today they're wearing top-tanks already. show-offs!
others look like they know their thing.. they go start bench pressin' with heavy ass weight but funny thing though, they just move the bar like a few inches off the rack. then after just 2-3 sets they go call somebody (usually, personal trainers) to help them move the weight. yeah, to sorta spot them but them PT's end up lifting the weights themselves.
i got one word for these people, LEAVE YER EGO AT THE DOOR, YA DIMWIT!
ok that's and handful, gotta a problem with that?
but, kidding aside, i use to be like that myself. these days, if i can't do it properly, i eat humble pie and lower the weights. i get better stimulation doing that and it's gotten me even more stronger.
last but not the least...
