Factions

i'm on a roll.. i know.

well, before this thought escapes my toasted brain cells, here goes my little epistle tonight.....

i have two groups of friends. well, one isn't part of this group. he happens to be my best pal.

anyhoo, this first group are my friends from work and we go a long way back. they are now former office-mates of mine.

we still hangout once in a while. it's definitely more fun in this crew.

the other, well, they are my wifeys friend's hubbies.

this crew is just as cool but are more on the serious side.. obviously, you can't let your guard down when you know the wifeys are hanging out together with us.

anyway, so what's the point?

well, nothing really.

i sorta just wanna put them out in here. i rarely have friends cos i'm quite picky. worst, i prefer to be alone most of the time unless there's an "adventure" worth risking it all. i mean, yeah. there's still that "all or nothing" attitude left in me.

even my son Neil feels alluded with my style. i can't blame him really. i wish i'd be more outgoing and sociable. it is what it is. you can change your skin but what's inside your heart, it remains. i think my bro and my sister at some degree have this loner characteristic in them.

we hang out last Saturday with the fun group. it's been over a month or two since we last saw each other. as usual, we never run out of stories and stuff to talk about. i thought we were done with the half full of whisky but then my other pal whip out a half empty whisky! damn, dude?!?

and then, we gulped the beers in can 'til this pal yet again pulled another trick off his bag. some drink i don't know what but we sipped on it anyway.

good thing my other pal who brought along his wife who happens to be our ex-office-mate also kept prodding him to hit the road already cos right around this time, we were on the brink of being of out of it. lights out, baby!

so, there goes my little episode for tonight. too gleeful it's a holiday tomorrow!!

peace out.

Redemption

tonight, i got the last laugh.

well, i had some doubts and apprehension going to the gym tonight. tired from work and possibly a DOM (google is your friend!) from a previous workout.

not only that, while negotiating to park in the open parking area, there wasn't any vacant space. going out, still undecided 'til i reached back to the main road. if i turn right, it's home. left, i go back and try to park in the covered area.

did the latter. ample space. no more excuses.

saw this turk guy who is really jacked and effing strong. i've always thought i'm stronger but every time we bump in the gym, either i'm always at the tail end of my workout or de-loading... meaning, he sees me doing pussy lifts.

in short, i wasn't too impressive.

so when i saw him walk inside the gym, i go "i will outlift you tonight bro" on my mind.

while i was lifting the 100lb dumbbells (DB's) doing decline press, he stared intently. he probably think i was gonna struggle with it. t'was hard but i made it. then shoulder press the 95 pounder DB's... check. deadlift almost 400lbs.

he can bench 200lbs alright. also seen him do the 100lb DB bench press. but he can't beat me with the shoulder press as well as the deadlift. i didn't even squat yet!

lesson to be learned here: don't get too cocky. you think you're the best, but someone out there is better than the best. for cryin' out loud, he's probably juicing for all i care. this right here bud is nothin' but organic.

i have better stories but too lazy to think or post 'em all. worst, SmartBro came up with this stupid and downright unfair smart bro fair usage policy wherein they'll be happy to cap your internet speed if you reached a certain bandwidth use. sucks!

anyway, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

DUD

yep, nothing but DUD!

thought i'd write somethin' awesome. sadly, i easily succumb to pressure.

here's how it works: if i get pressured, i tend to crack.

shayt, that's quite an admission.

are you disappointed?

i am.

yeah, yeah.... as always..... i have all these great stories and i usually end up with nothing!

life is good... fantastic!

take everything.

good or bad, it's gonna mold ya into somethin' great someday.

that's the hope, so i say.

i am grinding my teeth right now cos i've got zilt to offer..

when i'm done with all of 'em circus, i'm gonna go spill it out before i get amnesia.

cha-ching!!

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

am raring to write something... it's gonna be of epic proportion..

so, hold on.. fasten your seatbelt... buckle up.... it's gonna be awesome, dude!!!

"oh man!!!"  my little girl mutters.. her favorite expression, by the way.

yeah, i'm being forward. as always. heh!

we'll see.

full retard.

this made me missed my dirt bike...

i'll get one again someday...

on the bright side though, i got a nice weekend ride.. hah! or... i get to use it when it's raining. normally, i drive my badass xrm motard 125er. it's freakin' fast if you have to ask even if it only have a 125cc engine.

had some top secret mods done to it..

anyway, life is soooo much different now. guess it comes with age and all that level up thingy.

it's black and white.. good and bad.. part of the grand scheme of things. what else? goes with the territory.

ugh! it's crazy how this journey had been. i wish my life would've been less complicated. on a second thought, how's your life? are you making a difference in this world? are you making your life count?

yeah, i ask those questions myself... if there'd ever be a time where my life would be exemplary.

only God know.

my baby's here... ya know what's gonna happen next, aight?

what doesn't kill you, only makes you....

if i wasn't doing anything like, uhm, being jobless, i'd write like i mean it! hah!

but, this is reality. i'm just gonna swing by from time to time and post whatever i fancy... like, to be precise.

Every generation
Blames the one before
And all of their frustrations
Come beating on your door

I know that I'm a prisoner
To all my Father held so dear
I know that I'm a hostage
To all his hopes and fears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years

Crumpled bits of paper
Filled with imperfect thoughts
Stilted conversations
I'm afraid that's all we've got

You say you just don't see it
He says it's perfect sense
You just can't get agreement
In this present tense
We all talk a different language
Talkin' in defense

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye

So we open up a quarrel
Between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the future
It's the bitterness that lasts

So Don't yield to the fortunes
You sometimes see as fate
It may have a new perspective
On a different date
And if you don't give up, and don't give in
You may just be O.K.

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye

I wasn't there that morning
When my Father passed away
I didn't get to tell him
All the things I had to say

I think I caught his spirit
Later that same year
I'm sure I heard his echo
In my baby's new born tears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye

Say it loud, say it clear
Say it loud
Don't give up
Don't give in
And don't know what you can do next

blogging takes a back seat for God knows when.

this room which is supposed to be my "War Room" is infested! hah! yeah, with my two kids, that's what.

i kinda like writing when it's serine and no noises and no clingy little girl always wanting to get cuddled... not that it's a bad thing.. in fact, i like it a lot! my boy, Neil is all grown up and he's not that sweet little boy he use to be.. but i'm too happy for him growing up cos i can rely on him on some things that needs getting done.

i can't wait for him to be seventeen so he could start driving. well, at sixteen he can get a student permit and me being a holder of a "pro" license can actually sit on the passenger's seat with him taking charge of the wheels. that's perfectly legal to do.

my little angel is showing signs of smartness. she likes to talk a lot even non-sensical things. that's really good cos even though she's not taught by any responsible adult in the house, she's gutsy enough to really try.

sister is coming in next month, tentatively.

gotta keep my fingers crossed cos sometimes things don't happen the way it's supposed to.

anyway, this is what i'm taking about.. my place being taken over by "aliens".

chiao!

Holy....

hai! yeah, it's been a while.

haven't been busy really. ok, a bit.

had a lot activities going on. this summer had been nothing but adventure, thank you.

we went to an island somewhere north. it's called Camotes. beautiful place. you should go sometimes.

we were there during the holy week doing un-holy things... what else is new, huh?

three days and two nights to be precise.

because we got too drunk and were nursing a bad hangover, we only managed to get to two tourist spot.

no regrets there. if you think about it, we were lucky to get by.

going there was an absolute nightmare considering the many people who decided to go there at that time.

we went early around seven in the morning, but got on the boat around two in the afternoon. we were in three groups and bought our vehicles with us. we almost had to leave ours because the ship could not accommodate anymore vehicle that day.

we got on-board alright but had to shell out more cash cos my company decided to get it "fix".

anyway, it was a nice place we stayed in. although, brown outs hit us in those two successive nights we spent there. the supply was just not enough for the demand. mosquitoes were amazingly rare, thanks to the good Lord above.

long story short, we got back in one piece and wasted all the way!

coming soon... next episode.

in the meantime, here are some images for your viewing pleasure... naks!

Kuribayashi

i think this is how it happened when that beauty queen lost her leg in that freak accident last Saturday.

Saturday, February 23, 2013

four on the floor

whenever i go grind in the gym, i don't feel like blogging anymore.

exhausting!

it's been hard getting my ass there. i find all sorts of excuses not to exercise. sometimes, the other side wins. mostly though, grudgingly, i just gather enough strength to get it over with and feel better for myself afterwards.

anyway, whilst on my way to work this morning, i had a good look at a Mazda 2 total wrecked resting on an electric post. though i was speeding a bit, had to slow down and took a good closer look.. boy, was it a freak show!

the car was reduced to size with a huge chunk on the hood really crumpled to half. then, as i went up to the flyover, there's plenty of debris scattered all over the road. and i go, what the freak were you thinkin' dude? you just wasted one helluva fast car?!

click HERE for the news of that story.

prior to that, there's a picture in the local news of an upside down Mitsubishi Montero with the disheveled lady driver sitting on the side of the road tinkering on her cellphone. her shorts looked torn you can almost see her crack!

well, i got to meet this Montero in person in the towing area where i frequent to do my field work. man, it is a brand new vehicle with a "For Registration" plate still attached to it!

i heard from a pal who ply's that route regularly that the lady driver fell asleep. it's the SRP and the road is pretty long. it's a haven for accident. i dunno why.

have seen a few more and i couldn't help but ask: how the freak do you waste such an expensive and fine equipment like that?

accidents happen, go home.

yeah, nobody is an expert when it comes to such things.

speaking of equipment and vehicles, i just took the plunge!

saw my friend about two weeks ago. he was into selling cars. well, to make the long story short, he hook me up a nice ride and i get to pay it in installment.

it's a sweet ride for somebody who has been out driving a bike for eons. although i get to drive a cage every once in a while, it's nice to have something you can drive anytime and tag along the kids. whenever i carry them with me on a bike, i kinda feel nervous because one big bump and we'll all be lying on the road. we could wind up in ER or worst, DOA.

so yeah, i'm thankful. just have to save a little more now and set aside a good amount of cash cos there's a monthly amortization that needs to be payed off.

nuff said.

saturday night.

howdy?!?

some days, it's nice to just blabber around. others, too tired or simply lazy.

the workout, well, it is what is. hafta drag my feet to get in there. when i'm there though, i kill it.

the work still needs to be polished a li'l bit more. all cylinders are firing up pretty fine, thank you.

speaking of cylinders, if those predictions are to be true (read: we're gonna super boom economically this year), i am aiming to have a cage of my own. we do have a mini-van which wifey uses 24/7. of course, i'm exaggerating but you get the picture, right?

yep, when i go gimmick, i kinda wanna have a nice ride because with a motorcycle, i can't bring a whole lot of stuff like my make-up kit, extra undies and whatnot. hah!

so yeah. hope to save up and own a car again. the last few times i have one, it didn't bring me any pleasure. just headache. sigh.

random thoughts are really nice to write fresh. my memories isn't exactly improving. it's been like this since i was a teenager. it'd be a miracle if i am getting better as i aged.

thus, when i'm out there, i have all these awesome thoughts and am just itchin' in my balls to write 'em all up. but, when it's time to spurt 'em out, i end up empty.... eeeekkk!!!

what else? Neil is getting to be more of a pain in the ass.. it's true what that one guy said about children. when they are baby and all that, they're like little angels. and when they grow old, boy, aren't they just little devils?!? but aren't we all? i know i was.

heck, my little girl whose just three is already showing signs of being bratty. her name is Angel Mitch. i hope to the good Lord above she doesn't turn out to be Angel Biatch! thanks to wifey for naming her that!

this quote means a lot to me now:

"Natural law. Sons are put on this earth to trouble their fathers. "

from that awesome movie "Road to Perdition"

anyway, later.

the irony.

i was blabbing about how my command center is now impossible to breach in my previous post. yesterday, while we were out, somebody destroyed the railing that's supposed to secure the window on the second floor. obviously, it was a burglar. he/they would have had a field day if it took me a few more hours to get back home. we don't know if the culprit managed to get in or got disrupted when i went home around nine in the evening.

i got paranoid when i went up to feed the dogs and saw the railing is already bended and the jalousies, misaligned.

it's a good thing i took a vacation leave today. had time to fix that portion that had been compromised. the thing about that area, it's pitch dark at night. there's still no neighbor behind it except one. so i went up and had the a light installed there. my buddy, Earl is perfect for this job since electrical is his forte.

too bad he's too busy now with the family, new baby and work.

definitely, there's a lot that needs to be done here to make it more secured when people are out. there's just so many places where the thieves can enter.

so many things to do, so little time...

handyman

back in my teenage days, i love doing some handyman work at our little apartment. i'd fix anything i can figure out how. i'd made a few cages for my poultry project and really enjoyed the process. the satisfaction of watching it done and being able to fix those that need repairin' is quite a joy.

then i got to work, got busy and well, lazy. i didn't wanna figure things out anymore. since i now have a dough blow, i just let somebody do the dirty job and pay whatever they charge.

as time went by and having a lot of things done by others, i get to see the quality of work they put into it. some, i'm satisfied. others, hafta suck it up cos it's just one lousy job i wish i could have done myself.

when this house was built, i was too busy with the work and our little business back then which is a restobar. i didn't help with the construction and with the little details such as where the electrical outlets and switches should be, how the doors are placed, where the ladder leading to the second floor should have been positioned (which by the way is an epic disaster where it is now), etc.. etc..

looking back now, i realized my neglect and the lack of attention to details has cause us a lot of inconvenience and discomfort. whenever i see them, i love to kick myself in the nuts!

seriously though, i could of blame other people too like wifey and my uncle-cum-project-manager for all the missteps we undertook here. but, it's all on me. i didn't bother to read enough or research first or observe other houses first, i just went and dive into the ocean with them all sharks!! i got eaten alive, that's what!

so today, well, many months ago, i guess, the handyman in me is back.  modesty aside, let me just tell you how good of a handyman i am... he he!

when the washing machine broke down, me with my son, Neil, help together in opening it up. of course, it was me who figured out what was wrong with it. it's the timer. took it out and bought a replacement.

then, our bed collapsed! again, we tore it apart piece by piece and have it welded and strengthened at some welding shop nearby. we went to change the nuts and bolts and screwed 'em from tip-to-tip and now my little baby can jump around it like it's a trampoline.

this room that i use, there's an air conditioning slot that's left wide open so that when big sister decides to use it, she can just put an air-condition right there. she's been home a few times but she never sleeps here and instead opt for a pension house.

so what happens with this big a$$ hole? i put some wood on it. unfortunately, when people need something here, they just took the wood out or worst, destroy it.

so, i decided to cement it. just went and bought two pieces of hollow blocks, a few kilos of cement and sand, mix 'em up blast the hole close.

now, no one can breach my command center.. hah!

it's not really an immaculate view because it still needs some finishing touches but it is close now and that's what matters.

i can fix and/or replace door knobs too!

today, i just fix the rice cooker. took me a while to figure out why it's not "cooking" anymore. instead, it stays in the "warm" setting.

took it apart and saw that wiring was intact. it's a good sign.

then after a while i figured it must be the mechanical sensor.

there's that little round thing in the middle where you put the pan on. underneath it, there's a slew of mechanism that switches the heater to "keep warm" and "cooking".

that's where i tried to mimic the action that happens when you put the pan on. after months of using and the nth time of placing and replacing the pan, the part where it's suppose to make contact has gotten dirty or worned out. either i sandpaper it, which i don't have, or bend it a bit.

your guess is as good as mine!

now it's back into the kitchen action.

what's important to remember before buying a new one? if it still heats up, it can still be fix.

yeah, i can assemble a PC too and setup networks and stuff.

just gimme some time to tinker with whatever, read up the manual or on the internet, i just might fix the darn thing.

we have this super huge speaker system which i bought six or seven years ago that i don't know jack about on how to connect them to the Amps (ok, i know a tad). so i decided to challenge myself and bought a receiver and an equalizer and connect them all together.

truth to tell, after all the plugging in of the cables and RCA's and figuring out which comes in and what goes out, everything got connected and today, it sounds awesome.

sometimes, i'd blast 'em up using the netbook my wifey won in a raffle a few years back.

***

today is Sinulog day and everyone in the household is out except me and my little angel, Mitch. she cried so hard when the wifey and the rest of the gang left her. since we didn't have a nanny or a helper, she opted to leave Mitch behind. to be honest, it'd be a little tiring and hustle if she brings our little toddler with her cos it's a shitstorm out there.

i've had had enough of Sinulog since time immemorial and i don't think i need to be early out there. unless there's a place where we can just sit down and watch and not tirelessly go around unable to have a nice view, i say Ppppffftttttt!

we'd go out, alright but not to watch the parade and the dancing. we'd go chill at the mall.

there ya go!

most of my tales are written all over the interwebz as i react on whatever i read.
