*cough* *cough*

sneeze.....

don't ya pressure me!!

i can't think straight!!!!

F-O-C-U-S.

ahhhh... the holy grail of bench pressin' baby.. found it!

i've read about it when Dave Tate mentioned it in one of his e-book but didn't really took the time to test it. i'm too used to what i've been doin' for eons. but, something's wrong. my bench strength hadn't gone up for a while now.

and that's why it's important to always be reminded because we people, we easily forget. yeah, you too! when was the last time you ate at KFC? you don't remember, dontcha?

i thought so.

i've seen all sorts of techniques and read all sorts of discipline and philosophy.

today, i got down and tweaked my technique accordingly.

i reckon i did a stellar good. it was lightweight, baby!

shoulder could use some icin'...

with ageing comes wisdom... can i go back in time with all these "tools"?

wouldn't it be awesome, huh?!?

of PR's and explosion

two. three. one.

yes, i one-rep-max two hundred and thirty one pounds of iron today.. not too shabby, yeah?

i did the max effort method. just load the bar one bit at a time then rep it for three 'til things got heavy.. then when i'm about nearing my max, i just went for singles. took a three minute break in-between. that's what's nice when i do bench on Sundays. i don't have to worry about the next person who might wanna use the rack cos it's really quiet on Sundays.

plenty of time to recuperate and not rush into another set cos mr. quarter bencher can't wait to use the effing equipment.

i wish i can do that weight for reps like what i see in Youtube where metheads just go do it like it's too darn easy.

it would probably take a good forever to bump the weights up, but hey, whatever man, as long as i'm inching forward i'm happy.

some days, you're the strongest freak, but on some, you just feel flat.

my right elbow had been feeling surreal though... i wish the nagging pain would just go away. guess it comes with the territory and well, old age. thanks to the good Lord above, i don't feel anything other than... hmmm lemme check. LOL!

brag: OFF.

by the way, i, or we did have an explosion days prior, but that would be posted some other time and in really , really cryptic way that you have to be a rocket scientist to figure out wuz dem explosion all about. hee hee..

poseurs

i had a two day off from the gym... well, one was a needed respite, the other was just too much work. yeah, the work had been really riding me these days! it doesn't help that my effing supervisor is up my ass with pressure to get things done.. i'm actually having some kinda headache right now. ugh!

so much for that and on to my favorite subject...

another awesome shoulder workout today!

it didn't come as a surprise as i've been busting my chops to get my numbers up in doing shoulder presses. i've pretty much set a new PR (personal record) doing shoulder presses from the pins. roughly 190 pounds for a good three repetitions. i think that it had something to do with my grip strength. someone said and i agree that your ability to move the weight starts when you grip the bar. it's like when you hold the bar, you just go and picture tearing them apart. Dave Tate said something along that line and i must say, i'm a believer now of that principle.

anyway, i've pretty much gotten stronger in almost all facets of lifting.. but i'm not there yet. ya know, it's exciting and there are days that i look forward to just reaching my goal... it feels remarkable to have gotten that far and moving such amount of weight but at the same time it's frustrating when i realize i can't move any more weight cos my body, especially the CNS (central nervous system) is signalling me it's over. it is tired and exhausted and even though the mind is willing, the body has been weakened considerably.

so those are the highs and lows.

kroc rows and farmer's walk had gotten my grip stronger. they can also withstand longer use... in short, they tire a li'l longer than usual.

meanwhile, poseurs are scattered all over the gym like dog shit. hah!

you know, they must've started workin' out yesterday and today they're wearing top-tanks already. show-offs!

others look like they know their thing.. they go start bench pressin' with heavy ass weight but funny thing though, they just move the bar like a few inches off the rack. then after just 2-3 sets they go call somebody (usually, personal trainers) to help them move the weight. yeah, to sorta spot them but them PT's end up lifting the weights themselves.

i got one word for these people, LEAVE YER EGO AT THE DOOR, YA DIMWIT!

ok that's and handful, gotta a problem with that?

but, kidding aside, i use to be like that myself. these days, if i can't do it properly, i eat humble pie and lower the weights. i get better stimulation doing that and it's gotten me even more stronger.

last but not the least...

MAN-UP!!

thought of sooooo many things to say.. i haven't collated everything. sucks, huh?

yeah it does.

anyway, my personal life's in disarray.. it might not look like it, but it does. work, as always sucks.. got a few things that needs immediate action or it'll blow over.

i'm prepared for the worst though.

home... ahhhhh home... these guys and gals can't get things done without being told how to do about it.. well, they do get things done only that they kinda suck along the way.

they suck literally. ya know, they can't even help putting food on the table, worst part is, they don't know how to conserve... they can practically drain our resources in a short span of time.. talk about days.. shit, these folks are animals... i can't even begin to enumerate the what's and the how's.

not to mention, some are a real pain in the ass.. they just know where to push your buttons.. well, most of the time, i don't mind 'em.

they can keep their miserable shits to themselves... i'll go on live my life.

today, tomorrow and for the rest of my life, i promise myself one thing.. and one thing only.. that is, to MAN-UP.

i can't worry about everyone else' issues.. if i do, it'll just drag me down.. na-ah!

no way never.. bitching about other's issues won't lead me anywhere but down.. stuck!

so yes, i won't worry my life away.. maybe a tad.

guess, i'm born like that...

set a new PR this week.. i finally flat bench press the darn 100 pound dumbbells for five repetitions! that took forever, yeah?!

that was my promise to myself that before the year ends, i should conquer the darn thing.. and i have..

my deadlift went up 180 kgs for one rep... not bad for an old timer, eh?!

lets sing together now..

judgement day

am not out of the woods yet.

i'm trying to stay calm. tomorrow, the verdict should be out.

i did it.. not because there's so much to gain.. but lotsa pressure from all corners.

more reason to have a change of perspective, yeah?

i'm pretty psyched and prepared.. sorta.

anyhoo, i was pretty strong at the gym earlier.. broke some PR's.

for squats, all in kilograms, started with 40 x 3, 80 x 3, 120 x 3, 160 x 3 and lastly, 180 x 3, then i drop the weight back to 160 x 5 all the way down 40 x 5.

same goes with the deadlifts except that at the top of the set, i only managed to get it to 170 x 3.. probably because my CNS' pretty toasted by then.

all these lifts, by the way excludes the bar which is roughly about 40 pounds, give and take.

basically, i've gone over 400 pounds on both lifts today and i'm pretty happy.

got this protocol somewhere and tweak it to my liking.

so, even though what i'm about to face tomorrow is a huge distraction, i still manage to squeeze out some serious workout and even broke a few PR's.

i'd rather not worry...
