28 pounds

two in a row!

yep, that's the spoiler right there.

won again our li'l biggest loser challenge. it's not about the money, really. i've been meaning to lose weight and the contest just put things in perspective.

my office mates from the other branch did gave me a good fight... they were teaming up and boy, did they came close... 2nd and 3rd!

although i've said before that if i kept the pace i was going, i'm gonna be in the clear... however, there were a lot of snags along the way. went to Baguio City where we ate like we mean it. that was three days and two nights. then, sister came by for over a week. had a lot of goodies and sweets.. not to mention the many, many pigging out we did.

the last two days before the weigh-in, had an awful lot of boozing with the little reunion we have from our ISUZU family.. then my uncle invited us over for some dinner cos my cousin whose been a seaman for years just passed his last exam which puts him a stone throw away from being a skipper of the ship. nice, yeah?

third or fourth week of the contest, my left knee/calves started acting out and i couldn't run anymore. imagine how much running had contributed to my weight lost and now it's out of the menu.

it's probably for the best. i learn a lot of "tricks" working around the injury. more tools in my toolbox. oh, the diet... the diet was pretty intense i got a lot of days wherein i'm just so irritable.

i'm happy it's over now. i can sit back and eat what i want... hah!

not!

yeah... the plan is to keep going but not as intense as it was during the contest.

soldering on is part of the grand scheme of things...

anyway, had a lot of things going but i can't keep up with the details.. what, with all the happenings on full throttle... this guy right here is too old to catch up, deym!

speed bumps

was on my way to victory... i mean, i could literally smell it already.

with the pace i'm going, there is no doubt it's gonna be a back-to-back victory. i'm unstoppable!

unfortunately (or more precisely, fortunately)  sister decided to come home earlier. it's supposed to be May, but today, she arrived.

and we ate. a lot.

lets start with the ribs... then the chocolates... and it's only day one for their (sister and friend) eight day furlough. it's not gonna be easy on the coming days. not to mention, the time to exercise won't be a breeze now.

i hit a snag when we went to Baguio City... no exercise and eat everything on site. that was only three days and two nights and my body felt like i'm back to square one.

after this loooong snag, i have six days to get back to the swing of things.

b-e-a-utiful!

on the bright side, i get to have a new shoes, some jeans and shirts.... and lotsa chocolates!

wish me luck!!

FU FUP!

looks like i've reached my maximum bandwidth for my internet connection. yeah, thanks to FUP or Fair Usage Policy, they can arbitrarily slow down your internet connection almost to a halt because you, my friend went bat shit crazy downloading movies, music, etc. and, watched too much YouTube.

nice, yeah?

i've got two words for these companies... FU!!

**

the last two weeks had been a major beating for my lower extremities. switching between cardio machines and really went at it at extended time... wow!

i never imagined getting back into that conditioning. in fact, i have all the excuses in the world not to push myself to the edge cos primarily, i'm like forty years old and it's a rarity for people my age to be fit... save for some few.

and, although i workout regularly, i was drinking and eating a lot at the same time. thus, it's no wonder my conditioning is off most of the time.

i'm just gonna go on push myself a tad bit every time and see how it goes and feel.

i don't brag and say "hey man, do i look trimmer to you now?" i'll just wait for the "compliments" to fall into the right places.... lol

this is the goal. the before and after.

yeah, some people are starting to notice now.

seems most of the participants aren't really in to win this contest. everyone's making an excuse. lets see how this plays out when we weigh in next month, March 20.

some are probably just playing mind games.... we'll soon find out.

**

i miss Baguio City already. i love it there. what's not to love about the city of pines? it's mostly cold. when you're inside the hotel or an establishment, it's a bit warm, but once you're outside, that's when it feels like there's an air conditioning being turned on and set to the max!

traffic in Manila though is unbearable. for a lowly person from the province like me, i could not imagine living there and work. it's too congested. they have all these projects that's about to begin construction.

the worst is yet to come.

and we wonder why Mindanao and the rest of the countryside is too far behind in terms of progress. Manila gets the lion's share of all the revenues collected from all over the country.

anyway, pictures are at wifey's phone... might be able to sneak a few snaps in here but since i'm always very, very well spent everyday, it's quite an ordeal to copy and paste them here..

good night World!

Jackpot

the city of pines... such a nice place.

other than riding on a plane and a few snags, everything was goin' great in that three days and two nights of grand vacation.

but before that, we won some twenty five grand on some contest my wife had me and the rest of the wrecking crew in the house joined in.

it was a kickoff party, raffle draws and an award's night rolled into one.

t'was Sunday and since we have this little contest called Biggest Loser in the office, i decided to hit the gym for some serious cardio.

after the gym, went to the venue famish.

i was feeling tired, hungry, bored, envious, and did i mentioned bored? yeah, it took a while to finish. a lot of awardees and winners were announced wifey included.

some pals i know of were winning... cash, appliances, cellphones, etc.

i was feeling dismayed cos everyone's seems to be winning but us.

to make the long story short, during the final draw, i kept telling myself i hope i didn't win cos i hate going up on stage and getting pictured at... i didn't wanna be seen at all.

to my surprise, i got called!

the irony.

my wife is twenty five G's richer... yeah, i gave it all to her. well, she did all the work.. from buying the tickets, to making sure everyone goes, all the way to filling 'em tickets down.

what did i do? make sure i get my ass into that convention center.

i wanna go on talkin' but shayt, did some freakin' serious workout earlier, thus, i am very well spent.

Bagiuo City story will have to wait.... *yawn*

Biggest Lozer 2

WOW!

it's been a helluva tiring week! yep, bump up the cardio and really lessen the food intake... results are obvious, i guess.

i'm just waiting for other people to notice. i don't go around and brag about how i've lost weight.

my fellow competitors are showing signs of giving up. they probably thought there was no way of beating me... i doubt it very much.

we still have over a month more to go... plenty of time to turn things around.

i wish i could swim again though. that would really put me in the forefront, hands down.

unlike college days wherein i swim for twenty to thirty laps but then eat loads of junks afterwards like burgers and all that oily food being sold outside CCSC (the swimming place), now i can just eat boiled chicken breast and be content with it.

if i continue in this course and keep doing the things i do now, i believe i can top that lost weight i had before.

me and wifey are going to Baguio this tuesday for a three day vacation. nice, yeah?

i'm still scared shitless riding a plane and, we're gonna be travelling and riding on a bus  for hours going to our destination. heard about that news early today about a bus falling off a 120 meter ravine? many died.

that's even more scary!

anyway, if it's your time, it's your time. only the good Lord above knows when it's your time to go.

the cardio section of the gym is now my favorite hangout. i sweat like a bucket every time i'm there.

time to kill the talk and embrace the sacks.... nighty!

I Can..

WOW! it's been what, forever?

yep, got caught up with a lot of things. like a lot.

the work had been nothing but...

about two month ago(?), i've been holdin' office upstairs. we have this renovation going and it's taking eons!

so, what happened? about three or four departments had been fused all together. we are all shacked up in one big room. nice, huh? boy, it's been HELL.

most of these are ladies... and LOUD. my ears are bleeding!

thank God for earphones. but even then, it's still a pain in the ass. it's like listening to degenerates.. i feel dumber each day that passes.

and the renovation isn't gonna finish soon either... thus, i'm stuck with the loudmouths! it's soooo annoying, man.. i hope we can move back to where we've been..

**

my older brother whose been on rehab for almost a couple of years is back with us. good to see him making improvements.. big ones!

i hated him when i was younger for all the stupid things he pulled. but now, i have nothing but love for him. it's good to have a brother around the house. even my elder half sister is with us now. the house she's been staying since her childhood days had been sold. she's got nowhere to go, so she's here. like i have a choice, huh?!

anyway, we're one, big, quirky family now! what's really odd about this whole arrangement is, both of my siblings aren't married, my wife's brother is just as single.. even my older sister abroad is still single too!

here's hoping for the best!

**

speaking of sister, big sister is coming home this year. we're all excited. our nanny and her nephews (daughters of my dearly departed nanny) are also coming over. they've been residing in Manila for years now. they aren't exactly, ya know, well off there but they'd rather be there so sister's bringing them here for some RnR.

another thing to be excited of are the presents.. hehe.. little brother had been asking about our sizes. he always buys the good stuff.. sister's kinda cheapskate on stuff, but when it comes to goodies, she brings it.

**

workout had been so-so. i was gonna start running.. do some interval training but had an unfortunate mishap. i was at the mall to buy some compression shorts for my grand plan - run around IT Park after office hours. while walking to the parking lot, i stumbled on some hump.. all because i was looking at this dog the guard was walking around. i fell hard on my right knee.

boy, i couldn't care less about the embarrassment. the pain was almost unbearable!

iced it after arriving home. next day, deadlift some three hundred pounds. stupid! i thought it's nothing cos i can bend my knees. next thing i know, it just swelled like there's a small ball stuck inside my knee. i could not bend it anymore. fcuk me!

t'was a nightmare.

could hardly walk but managed to get inside the bathroom. good thing i got some guy to buy me some ice and iced the area for an hour.

for almost a month now, haven't done any leg exercise.

this week, i managed to walk in the treadmill and do some stationary bike. at least it's healing up.

**

Sinulog's comin' up. my pal who shares my namesake will have a party at his house a day before the festivities. he does it annually... what usually happens is, i get hammered the night before and i don't get to go out the next day.

it's gonna be more fun now cos we have this new pal who came out of nowhere and is a mighty made guy. if you're familiar with the Italian mob, you know what a made guy is.. otherwise, google is your friend!

if i have it my way, i don't really mind not going anywhere. i'm pretty set at home with all the fun stuff i managed to amass... that is, modesty aside.

but, it's also nice to go out , let your hair down, loosen up, get wasted with your pals. although you scorch a few brain cells, you get to stimulate it at the same time.

so, lets say, we'll just roll with the punches.

**

anyone seen that awesome movie, Lone Survivor movie yet? very nice!

i don't know about you but i'm sleepy, tired and bored... so, 'til next year?

four on the floor

whenever i go grind in the gym, i don't feel like blogging anymore.

exhausting!

it's been hard getting my ass there. i find all sorts of excuses not to exercise. sometimes, the other side wins. mostly though, grudgingly, i just gather enough strength to get it over with and feel better for myself afterwards.

anyway, whilst on my way to work this morning, i had a good look at a Mazda 2 total wrecked resting on an electric post. though i was speeding a bit, had to slow down and took a good closer look.. boy, was it a freak show!

the car was reduced to size with a huge chunk on the hood really crumpled to half. then, as i went up to the flyover, there's plenty of debris scattered all over the road. and i go, what the freak were you thinkin' dude? you just wasted one helluva fast car?!

click HERE for the news of that story.

prior to that, there's a picture in the local news of an upside down Mitsubishi Montero with the disheveled lady driver sitting on the side of the road tinkering on her cellphone. her shorts looked torn you can almost see her crack!

well, i got to meet this Montero in person in the towing area where i frequent to do my field work. man, it is a brand new vehicle with a "For Registration" plate still attached to it!

i heard from a pal who ply's that route regularly that the lady driver fell asleep. it's the SRP and the road is pretty long. it's a haven for accident. i dunno why.

have seen a few more and i couldn't help but ask: how the freak do you waste such an expensive and fine equipment like that?

accidents happen, go home.

yeah, nobody is an expert when it comes to such things.

speaking of equipment and vehicles, i just took the plunge!

saw my friend about two weeks ago. he was into selling cars. well, to make the long story short, he hook me up a nice ride and i get to pay it in installment.

it's a sweet ride for somebody who has been out driving a bike for eons. although i get to drive a cage every once in a while, it's nice to have something you can drive anytime and tag along the kids. whenever i carry them with me on a bike, i kinda feel nervous because one big bump and we'll all be lying on the road. we could wind up in ER or worst, DOA.

so yeah, i'm thankful. just have to save a little more now and set aside a good amount of cash cos there's a monthly amortization that needs to be payed off.

ez bz

the last few weeks had been really busy. it's a fact we've had an all time high in terms of sales. we've never had this kind of unit releases since our company started. it's awesome! but, it's quite a stress.

i'm just gonna have to suck it up.

it's probably because our economy is doing good and people can afford even the most high end vehicles  such as the Mustang and the Explorer. heck, even the Expedition have takers too!

courtesy of Ford Philippines

it has been a roller coaster ride so far. management has decided to bump up the quota. so, it is expected we're gonna have a sizable sales every month.

i'm not from the sales group but this means my workload will increase as well. aside from the main office, there's three more branches which all documentations are sent my way to be processed.

i can't complain.

though it's tiring sometimes, i'm happy to have put up a system long before this came about. otherwise, a huge pile of mess would have been on my table right now.

haven't gone out partying with friends since those dreaded days. my condition has since improved. unfortunately, workouts had to suffer since we've been busy and worst, the house help left. still and all, when i find time, i sneak out to the gym and make the most out of it.

cha-ching!

the lowdown

well, whadyaknow.. i'm still kicking!

i dunno for how much longer though. my BP has gone haywire. my heart, lets just say it's been downhill for roughly three weeks now. it's definitely something to watch out for.

been to the doc a few days ago. pop a few pills. it's better but still, i'm not out of the woods yet.

monday, gonna get my ECG result and go to a specialist. a cardiologist, to be exact.

yesterday, i felt better after the visit to the doc, went to smash the weights! shoulder pressed ninety pounds for three. rest. then squeeze out six more reps with a help this time.

after a few minutes of doing presses and pulls in the gym, i felt dizzy and gassed. took off.

today, i tried do some light cardio. just walk a bit faster and inclined a tad. boy,  i felt dizzy and gassed again!

that's a stark contrast to what i can pound before doing HIIT on the treadmill at eight kilometers per hour. really, something awry is goin' on with me.

tsk.. tsk..

all that strength and power, gone in a snap!

at least three pals wanna hang out tonight. i'd love to, but i can't.

gotta heal up if i still can. i get a little anxious just thinking of the what if's.

between then and now, only the good Lord above knows.

gotta stay positive. i don't live for myself alone now. there are people whom i love and depends on me.

it's just how things in the world works.

chillin' time.

oscar mike

your chances of winning in a lottery is .000001 to nil.

so you're better off betting on a cockfight or in a casino.. you'd exponentially increase your chances than betting on some lottery. unfortunately, i don't win in this kinda game. wifey is the lucky one when it comes to raffles, games and gambling. she oftentimes brings something after a party where there's raffle. we've had LCD TV, a laptop, some  cellphones, a few electronic stuff, etc. courtesy of her winnings.... a proof of how lucky she is.

so why am i talking about this? well, just recently the lottery station had been swamped with people wanting to bet on the lotto. grand prize was peg at roughly three hundred million. that's a lot! people would wanna have a piece of that, that's for sure judging from the people queuing up in droves. even i bet a few times..

some lucky folks finally hit the jackpot! good for them. hope it makes them better people and rub others with their good fortune.

***

meanwhile, thought i'd share that little "secret" i discovered in increasing my bench strength. it has something to do with how you grip the bar. i've read this a few times that when you grip the bar, you kinda want to bend it. so there. i experimented with how i place it on my palms. when i thought i finally got it, the bar just travels to its supposed trajectile rather nice and easy.

i got excited today and as useless, err, i mean as usual, got carried away! my shoulders are burning hot with all that lactic acid! just tore myself apart real good.

my li'l baby is all over me right now... buzzin' off!!

Friday, August 24, 2012

looks like someone had a rude welcome at the gym earlier. i wasn't really mindful of others... bad, bad me!

some guys, two of them were new, obviously. well, i've been rotating my time in the gym so i have no clue whose who cos i go when i'm ready and good to go. no specific time whatsoever. anyway, did some decline dumbbell press. this lift is something i'm really good at. not many in my gym can pull this one with the one hundred pounder dumbbells. so there, after doing my set, there's no way around it but to drop it.

one guy was beside me. THUD!!! the new guy was standing next to my bench. he seem to be lookin' weird at me and the dumbbells... i just went ahead and do s'more pressing.. didn't know what happened really until the PT (personal trainer) guy told me, "that dude was shocked as hell when you drop the weight!!"

i go "really?!?"

"he doesn't know you yet and he's a newbie so he's not aware of how things goes around here."

"sorry." that's all i can say albeit, embarrassed.

it's no wonder they were gone a few minutes after that incident.

so, that's my story of the day.

chill.

outsmart

there's a bit of shayt going around the office lately. some new folks are up my ass.. i've been doing a lot of emails to the semi-big boss explaining things. it kinda zapped the zest outta me.

we're pretty busy right now with all the shebang of things that's going on.. these kinda thing just take your focus away. i know... it's their job. might have been that they are ordered from the higher echelon of them - management.

well, lets just see how thing shape up in the coming days... then, come up with an action plan.

anyway, work can go the eff itself off... let it worry by itself.. ya know what? bring it on!!

meanwhile, conditioning had been improved a bit. the endurance had gone up, thank you!

it's gonna get tweaked, adjusted and more importantly, bump-up as days passes by.

i've got a lot of unfinished stories to tell. someday, it'll be given its proper closure. if i wasn't worried about anything else, i'd love to get me some freedom.

gotta bust my ass... for now.

crack is whack

my right knee feels funny. too much leg work, i guess.

my gym is on a crackdown. locker crackdown, that is. see, i took a pretty good advantage of them lockers. they were quite lax with the whole thing but as the time went by, they are slowly getting into my nerves.

oh well. some good things never last.

goin' back to the knee, i think i've lost lotsa tendons there with all sorts of exercise i've thrown its way. good thing no mishap happened or i'd be on a wheelchair now. see, it feels like there's some lose screw on my right knee that at some point in time while walking on the treadmill or doin' squat, it seems ready to bend or detach itself. weird? you got that right!

another snag. yet another reason to back off from all that gymin'. it's better to drink, dine and be merry yeah?!? NOT!!!

at twenty one hundred and fourteen hours (09:41 pm) i'm ready to hit the sack. i am getting really old, huh? it used to be that i sleep like twelve midnight or in the wee hours of the morning like on a regular basis.

geez, between nine and ten in the evening, it's lights out baby!!! it's been the norm since, uhm... shiz, i can't even begin to remember!!!!

lived another day

yesterday, i had... well, i dunno how to say it - i wasn't ready to workout! actually, i skipped monday's workout cos i felt i wasn't ready yet. my CNS was still revolting after last saturday's balls-to-the-walls session. since time was pretty tight, when i had the chance to get my arse into the gym, i wanted to start real quick.. but, sister called. we talk for almost an hour. by then, the last meal i took was almost a goner. completely digested, to be exact.

there wasn't any way i'm gonna go out and get some food anymore.. i just soldered on and hope i'd be fine. it was LEG day. that's a capital L-E-G cos it's one exhausting session. anyone who trains legs knows how it'll sapped your energy to the ground.

anyway, i figured i'll do front squat. you don't see to many gym rat do that thing. i do 'em regularly! then, when i'm done with them set i'd go do walking lunges. i imagined, if i wanna have a really nice pair of wheels, i better do the hard things.

so there.

that's when i almost had a mishap.

about the fourth set of doing back-to-back of front squat and walking lunges, i almost fainted. i felt light-headed and it was almost lights out!!

i was ready to collapse, man!

shook myself momentarily and immediately call it a day. that would have been an emergency. the gym would have been in chaos and it would have been another one of those "most" embarrassing moment in my shit-list.

good thing, i got away with it.

nonetheless, today was better. took a nice good meal one hour before hitting the gym and blasted shoulders and chest to oblivion! had a strong session all throughout.

it was awesome, dude!

on the western front, sister just texted me the deets of what went down with my brother and his father-in-law's almost all out brawl... what happened to him and that prick, err, father of his, ain't no laughing matter. but, i'll save that for tomorrow's... i'm too thrashed, hun!

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

in the zone

gotta write in spurts here.. it's been one helluva jump start for 2012. things are slowing down though as i got everything under control. but just like any other time and any other given day, ya gotta be prepared for whatever's being thrown at you... or you'd get caught with yer panties, err, i mean pants down.

well, it is inevitable we'd slowed down. the production of our new models had been halted/delayed due to the flooding in Thailand last year. hopefully, by second quarter we'd go ballz-to-the-wallz again.

**

i feel pretty fresh in the gym as of late.. took a three day off. been focusing on the big lifts and lessen the accessory exercises.. it's pretty consistent at how i've managed to go there.. late afternoon slash early evening.. i think i'm stronger at these times.. it didn't matter how many jackasses are gonna be there or the number of poseurs or wannabees doing all sorts of stupid and crazy things.. i just go and get my lifts done and get out! the sooner the better.

since i had a long weekend, went to do squats and deadlifts on the same day. boy, did i fried my CNS! in fairness, i was strong as a bull... then earlier, my number in my 1RM with the bench was still the same, but.. my confidence with that lift had gone up! i have no more doubts of whether i can lift that weight.. it's a done deal.. next stop, two hundred thirty pounds (230 lbs).

that's a lot considering i fried my CNS the day before.. imagine if i was like well rested. it'd be awesome!

meanwhile, i gotta go sip some brandy coz i feel pretty edgy yet again... took jack3d for my pre-workout and the moment i lie down in bed, it feels weird. hmp!

one more thing, internet had been intermittent for quite sometime now, better get this fix, Smartbro people!

slurp... slurp...

of smokes and mirrors

smokin'!

yeah, that girl in the gym earlier is smokin' hot. i can't effing focus when she's like staring at me when i do my exercises.. of course i'm being presumptuous, as usual. well, it kinda feels like. or, it must've been the other way around. i have a picture of her, by the way. wanna see?

bleh!

she just have all the nice curves and bumps in the right places... it's in her genes, i surmise. sometimes i wish i don't get to workout around the same time with her cos she's quite a distraction... but at the same time i just luuurrrvvvv having her around cos it's so nice to see a lady who takes care of her body and knows what she's doing.

so, it's a love and hate thing. if it was up to me though, i don't mind the distraction at all if it's her that's causing it.

speaking of smoking, it's been what, six or seven years since i quit smoking. i gotta thank the good Lord above for the strength He gave me.

it was never easy... nor that hard.

i've been smoking since high school, if my memory serves me right. it all started when i learn that it's an appetite suppressant. i didn't wanna go morbidly fat but having our family history and my big-boned structure, i'm meant to be that - fatso!

so on and off i go smoke a stick or a pack whenever i can... not until i suffered some serious health problems. i know my heart was weakening fast as i didn't exercise, eat all sorts of junk, alcoholic, slept late and smoked like a chimney. it's also worth mentioning that i was born with a congenital heart disease. yaiks!!

whenever i go walk on stairs, it is as if i'm gonna suffer a stroke on my journey upstairs... i could hardly breath and barely have legs to go on!

not only that, my bouts with tonsillitis had been frequent and worst each time. i need a more powerful and expensive antibiotic to combat it - and the pain, it was getting unbearable. what's more lamentable, fever was a like a last name whenever i had tonsillitis.

the last experience i had was around the third week of december (either '04 or '05) and it was when i cannot say "no" to my uncle who offered me a really nice pack of Marlboro. the kind of which is rich and imported. and even though my throat had started to feel uncomfortable that time, what, with all the parties in the month of december, i just went on and binge on s'more cigarettes.. puffing and huffing to my heart's delight.

a few days later, i had the worstest tonsillitis in the whole-wide-world.

thus, i could not smoke 'til i healed up.

then i thought, what the heck, it's New Year in the next few days, why not make it a "resolution?"

i made it for a few days... why not push the envelope s'more? i go convincing myself.

it wasn't a walk in the park at all. whenever i go out with friends, i get teased and tempted. they'd say "you know, you'd be back smokin' in no time, i'll bet my year's salary on that!"

then my boss, who was my smoke buddy since we knew each other many years back and one person i cannot say "no" to, also downplayed my resolution and said the same thing my pals told me. that i wasn't gonna last a week or a month.

then days became months.. and months became year...

and many years later, i haven't lit one cigarette.

whose to say one cannot change? that it's hard?

nuff said.

i've got a few more tales to tell up my sleeve, but i gotta watch my favorite show on Discover Channel. now, brotha!

American Chopper.

enjoy the weekend.. keep your pants up and be safe.

Bench Pressin' like playin'

i saw a video just recently and that was all i need to see to get my bench press (bench) performed properly. see, we all can put things up and down but there's actually a way to execute things properly. like when you're trying to lift something off the floor. picture a case of beer. if you're bending with your back rounded, you're gonna feel some sorta pain later.. worst, injure your lower back. however, if you arch your back, you are doing it sexy properly.

there are more examples i can give, but ya gotta pay me though for them infos.. heh!

well, going back to the video, i've been doing the bench wrong since day one. that's one reason why i hurt my right shoulder before. since time immemorial i tried to do it right with no luck, though dumbbell pressing one hundred pounds each hand was somewhat a success, using the bar proved to be my waterloo.

i just couldn't get stronger with it no matter how i tweak my hand position or body's... 'til i saw the video and applied it earlier.

wow!! it's like seven years or so of doing things wrong and trying in earnest to learn.

but not when i'm older and joint pains is a regular!

it's also worth mentioning that recovery had decelerate a tad.. argh!

ahhhh... it's never to late to learn new tricks! even old dogs can learn a thing or two.. like me!

exciting times, indeed.

some people in the gym must've been smiling behind my back when i do all those goofy exercises.

the basics are always a staple - squats, deadlifts, presses and rows. the assistance however is where i do all sorts of stuff that most people in the gym wouldn't dare try cos they don't wanna look like "aliens."

but it's not about how nice you flow through the movements, it's getting things done - the right way.

so wipe that smirk off yer face, ya moron!

my apologies for getting carried away. too much testosterone running through my system, i must admit.

well... it's time to chill now..

Gellin'

just had a massage earlier at a place where i'm a regular. i kinda stop experimenting with other parlors as i only get disappointed when i don't get that much needed therapy.

so, when i find a good masseuse (nothing kinky, just prefer women), i usually note their name so the next time i go there i can easily request for that lady.

lately i've been going for the two-hour session... pretty rejuvenating for a tired and weary bod like mine. i always go for the HARD variant... when she does that massage, she really goes for the kill! mostly, i end up holding my breath to sorta mask the pain.. but i don't complain... especially when it's done on the hamstrings, glutes, back, shoulders, chest and biceps... on the calves, quads, triceps and some part of the neck and head, i prefer it moderate.

that pretty much puts my weekend on a high note.

there was a time when i just went balls to the wall at the gym, the next day i couldn't get up! well, i can actually but it was really hard to move around or go to work.. i ended up calling for a home service massage.

curiously, some people at the parlor, i overhear them talking to their masseuse... they're like hitting on them. maybe they're hoping to get something "extra" or some DOM wanna have some lovin'..

well, i don't like to chatter. i just wanna chill , listen to relaxing music and close my eyes. even when it hurt sometimes.. i don't go "could you tone it down a little, it effing hurts!"

i don't even get a wood, dam'it!

maybe if the attendant was wearing something skimpy, i might.

i don't know if some masseuse are actually hitting on me... there was one who really did a nice dig on my inner thigh she's a few millimeters away from my manhood... i can't stop it from getting mad!

anyway, i don't really wanna think that way cos my intentions are pure. sorta. LOL!

well, that's my story for today.. my mind's still debating whether i should down some brandy whilst watching HBO's Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 24/7 - Episode 4 or just have gatorade instead... hmmmm..

decisions.. decisions..

overtraining is overrated.

i've been having a blast in the gym lately. cardio had been "exciting." yeah baby!!

been doin' lotsa sprints and that summit trainer thang... it's a lung buster, mate!!

and then add to that the whole lotsa lifting where i try to incorporate all that reading and fuse 'em all into one helluva routine --- it's a killer!

so yeah, everything about workin' out and breakin' sweat, it's pretty covered-up and still consistent.

i'm still sore from doing some back and biceps routine yesterday... today was hamstrings. guess i overtrained yet again, huh?

***

yay!!

i got a li'l caught with 'em shebang of things... ya know, movin' some weight, work, earn that much needed moolah  and all sorts in between..

yeah, that pretty much sums up how i roll... it's too bad i'm getting predictable.. i hate it when i come to that.

i take everything as a challenge. even though work had pretty much doubled or tripled up since early this year, i'm still coping nicely. sadly, i also depend on other people and when they screw up, all that hard work i put up goes down the toilet.

i guess that's life... sometimes you wish you can do everything on your own so things gets done.

in my "business" kissing ass is the norm. no matter how pissed you are with this particular person, ya gotta be nicey-nicey... or else, something "bad" is goin' to happen.

still eight minutes left... to get my effing IOS5 update, that's what!

memba what i said about fusing 'em drafted post?

you're reading it. chiao!

effort.

hey there!

been swamped with work these days, deym!

that's why.

well, we all feel bad about Japan and i'm guessing everyone said their piece.

so, i wouldn't add more drama to a tragic, double whammy of a misfortune the Japs has suffered.. i can only wish them well.

i hope they'll be able to cope-up with the situation with all the damage, death and the impending nuke catastrophe that's about to blow over. hopefully we don't have to suffer the same.

man, i can't even begin to imagine the sufferings those guys are going through right now.

God,, help them.

on the lighter side, i've managed to solder on with my goal.. although i'm getting a little impatient.

it's not like there's no improvement whatsoever anymore - it's just exhausting.

each week, cardio had been bumped up. knees are wearing thin.. legs are sore for days.. it's not really that hard, just takes a lot of focus and determination.

probably lost lotsa fat but pretty sure, muscles too!

you can't expect to retain them unless you're "juicing" or taking lotsa supplements such as BCAA's and whatnot.

i would be selfish if i spend all my moolah over those things when there's a boatload of responsibilities to be taken cared of - first.

anyway, i realize how stupid of me before to do all that jogging or biking as it yield me no result.. why? effort. i didn't have that.

today, i've smartened up.

if you ever want to have result, you gotta put on the work. if you're doing a so-so job, expect a so-so result.

guess it applies generally to anything... of course, in my case, it's something of interest, otherwise, i'd probably just get it done just to get by or maybe to earn me a living: like my job!

hah!

going back to the workout plan, i'm planning to do cardio twice a day.. that should speed up the process a bit more.. i got a stationary bike at home. set-up the lappy up front, load some movie/s, pedal to the metal for 20 loooooonnnnggggg minutes and we're burnin' baby!

commencing in a few minutes....
